WaterWays Celebrates with Charter Partners at Chattanooga’s National Park City Celebration

WaterWays joined fellow charter partners in celebrating Chattanooga’s designation as the first National Park City in the Americas. The event drew hundreds of attendees who gathered for this significant occasion.

The celebration featured several musical performances, including a lively set by the band Slim Pickins. WaterWays was recognized as a charter partner for our contributions during the review process and for our efforts in litter reduction throughout the city. We were also acknowledged for our commitment to enhancing local water quality for recreation and safety.

We are excited about the next steps as we explore what it means to be a city within a national park! The designation opens up new opportunities for collaboration and environmental stewardship. As we continue our mission, we look forward to engaging more community members in initiatives that promote sustainability and ecological awareness.
Our team is already brainstorming innovative projects that will align with the ethos of a National Park City, focusing on enhancing urban green spaces, improving waterway health, and fostering a culture of environmental responsibility. We believe this status will inspire residents and visitors alike to appreciate and protect the natural beauty of our city.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all volunteers, partners, and supporters who have worked tirelessly to achieve this milestone. Together, we can create a vibrant, sustainable future for Chattanooga, where nature and urban life thrive in harmony. Stay tuned for upcoming events and opportunities to get involved in this exciting new chapter for our city!
