We took to the streams this past month to implement nature based solutions that combat streambank erosion. Our staff and UT Ag. Extension Professor Dr. Ludwig facilitated two streambank repair workshops, teaching participants about several DIY methods for streambank protection including live-staking and invasive species removal. The workshop was an amazing success with municipal employees and community members in attendance.
Our Stream Team’s at Red Bank Elementary School and Silverdale Baptist Academy also installed livestakes on their campus creeks as a part of their end of year stewardship project.
