Nature by the Pint: 2/19

On a chilly February evening, participants gathered around education stations set up by our very own Outreach & Education Specialist, Peri Anne Edwards. Simulating our stewardship activities geared towards our elementary students, these grown-ups stepped up and out of their comfort zone to try them out!

Activities included identifying preserved specimens, determining water quality with macroinvertebrates, emulating salamander adaptations by trying to catch (fake) critters with sticky hands, as well as observing the journey of stormwater runoff in an enviroscape. All of these stations are real education lessons! It was so interesting to engage with adults on the same subjects that we teach elementary students.

The room was full of laughs and learning, with the reminder that you can always be curious no matter what age! Culminating with a competitive Kahoot trivia about water facts, our February attendees let their inner child play.
