Our founder and director Mary Beth Sutton was recently nominated for the Pay it Forward recognition by News Channel 9. This shoutout showcases WaterWays annual Bonnaroo cleanup, where leftover gear and goods are collected and resold to support the non-profit’s restoration projects. By bringing awareness to the importance of cleanup, the Bonnaroo effort reminds us that keeping our waterways healthy starts with individual action.
The 10,000 dollars raised by the Bonnaroo sale not only supports other cleanups, but also education opportunities for local schools. Keeping microplastics, dirt, and other pollutive sources out of our waterways is an endeavor all ages can get behind- especially while getting outdoors.
Keep up to date with WaterWays activities by signing up for our newsletter or following our Instagram and Facebook. The summer is just around the corner, so keep a lookout for Bonnaroo updates coming soon.
